microRIBOCA

June 4, 2019 - March 1, 2020

Various locations in Riga cityscape, Latvia

The inter-season programme of RIBOCA in 2019 titled microRIBOCA was developed to turn the biennial eye closer to home and focus it more locally. The programme was shaped to foster a feeling of belonging to a particular place among local Rigans and to free the creative potential that is present in everyday life in the public space of the city. microRIBOCA offered interdisciplinary public art projects, such as the “Brownie from Bruņinieku Street” by artist Inga Meldere, urban graffiti tour “Translating City Signs” by Rihards Bražinskis, street art project “microcitizen” by Oskars Pavlovskis, Theodore Zeldin’s conversational dinner “Feast of strangers” and concluded with an art publication “Soon”, which is a tribute to Riga neighbourhoods adjacent to the city centre and to street art. microRIBOCA programme was curated by Kaspars Vanags.
